  • 0930-1050 Rural Challenges: Cindy Joseph and Josh King share work from the rural subcommittee and discuss the unique challenges and solutions associated with rural programs

  • 1100-1200 The Bloody Stuff: Wendy Smart and Janine Shepherd share their experience as transfusion service experts to help navigate topics including blood suppliers, rotational models, Rh positive implications, options for preventing waste, and ways to support the blood supply

  • 1100-1200 AABB Prehospital and Scheduled Out-of-Hospital Transfusion Standards: From Standards to Practice: Audra Taylor, MS, SBB (ASCP) (Virtual presentation) This session will review key AABB standards for prehospital transfusion programs, focusing on operational coordination, blood storage and administration, documentation, quality systems, product rotation, and patient safety. It will also introduce the AABB accreditation process and conclude with an interactive Q&A.
